When I am supposed to be working....28

Yes, I am very bored at work.  And yes, I enjoy drawing big, muscles on a figure.  This is my version of the Hulk with more, for a lack of a better term, ape-like features.  He is dumb looking, he has a huge brow, and he used his knuckles to walk.

I actually was inspired by an old sketch of the Hulk from Phil Hester in an old issue of Wizard magazine (does anybody remember those?).  Anyways, I always liked the Hulk looking and acting a little bit like a gorilla.  I like how it makes him seem more animalistic.

Trinity

Oh, did you think I was referring to the Holy Trinity?  Sorry, I meant the trinity of the top superheroes in DC Comics: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

I have said in the past that I am really trying to experiment with the downward, bird's eye view shot.  I think it was a pretty successful.

Of all of the characters, Superman is the fugliest.  I made his face too fat.  I wish I saw it before I inked over my drawing.  I tried to make it less obvious by making his smile bigger, but it didn't work.

The drawing was done with a G2 gel pen (which sucked by the way, but it did provide good texture for Wonder Woman's hair).  I also used a Papermate Flair medium size marker for the majority of the lines and I used a .01 cm tip art pen to do the shadow lines on their legs.

When I am supposed to be working....27

Along with Carnage, I also drew Sinestro the same day.  I don't know if I told you or not, but Sinestro is definitely one of my favorite villains of all time.  And it is because of Geoff John's run on "Green Lantern" that made him a total B.A.

Of all the things in this picture, I am happy with the way Sinestro's arms are crossed.  I usually am not good with drawing people crossing their arms, I usually make them look like they are hugging themselves.

New Logo Design

I recently ordered up some business cards!  I am glad that I did because they amazing to look at. Here is a look at the different designs that I did.

This first design was a simple superhero silhouette with a "M" on it.  I took the design and then tweaked the "M" logo and placed it on my business card!

The logo was tweaked and I requested for the feet to cut off.  One reason is because I drew them really ugly and the second reason is because I like the drawing to bleed off the edge of the card.

This design is actually the initial design that was supposed to be on my business card, but for logistical reasons, it did not work.  However, I like it so much that I am probably going to keep this and use it somewhere else on the site.  And yes, this the real profile of my face.

When I am supposed to be working...25

I am taking a little break from drawing superheroes and trying to draw something else.  Apparently, people seem to love this "Frozen" movie.  I don't know...I guess it's all right.

No, I am kidding.  I loved it.  Here is a picture of Elsa.  I am, once again, stretching my artistic muscle and drawing something that I am not used to drawing.  I really liked the way Elsa is depicted.  She retains her Disney cartoon look while kinda being done in my personal style (for example, her hair and cape is done in my style).

I am also drawing more top down views where it is a forced perspective and foreshortens her body.  I think it makes the drawing look more visually interesting rather than another straight forward shot.

Ultron

So, that new Avengers movie trailer happened.... It came out a few weeks ago and I loved every minute of it.  I saw the majority of the footage already thanks to a sneak peek of it at this past year's Comic Con.  However, the trailer is something that I have on in the background at my repeated viewing pleasure.

In short, it gives us a good sneak peek of Ultron, Captain America's new suit, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and, the biggest thing for me, Iron Man's Hulkbuster armor! You can check it for yourself right here.  Now excuse me while I watch it again.

When I am supposed to be working...24

It took a long time, but I finally drew a picture featuring the Guardians of Galaxy.  There is not really any reason why I haven't drawn them together, but I think that I am not a fan of drawing animals.  So, sorry, Rocket Raccoon.

However, I actually enjoyed drawing Star Lord's helmet.  Something that I didn't expect to like.

The Flash

So I watched the new "Flash" show recently.  Long story short, it is actually pretty good.  It was silly and cheesy with it's dialogue, especially when it is in those romantic scenes.  But the characters are interesting and the main plot is intriguing enough.  I will stick around and watch more.

As mentioned before, I love drawing the Flash.   His costume is just so fun.  I also enjoy drawing different speed effects.  In this case, I am trying to show him running at different points in time to give the impression that he is faster than the human eye can process.

As much as I like these close up poses that I drew, the figures of the Flash in the background are lacking.  They don't fit with the rest of the running cycle and they look out of place.

Naurto Commission

Another commission request where it is Naruto and Kakashi are doing some sort of crazy action while spelling out the name "Theona".

I really like the energy that I drew with Naruto and Kakashi are punching their fists together.  I don't quite know how successful I was in writing the name "Theona".  It looks more like it says "The ona" whatever that is...

Guardians of the Galaxy

Now that Kraken Con is behind me (a.k.a. the 48 hour draw-a-thon), I am now able to post pictures of a couple of commissions that I did this weekend.

First up is Guardians of the Galaxy.  As it has been super popular since the summer time, I was more than happy to draw them despite it being only, like, my second time drawing them together as a team.
